Wed Feb 23rd. Started raining last night and didn't stop. Woke up at 4:30 am to drizzle. The weather didn't dampen our enthusiasm and we were ready to start our next adventure. The bus picked us up at 6:55 am and we headed to Shute Harbour to pick up our ferry. We first headed to Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays where we were free to explore and use all of the resort facilities. Beautiful island that we experienced between liquid sunshine. It brought us to an interesting art gallery - Foot's Artworks... beautiful sculptures !!
We headed to our next island while enjoying an OZ BBQ buffet ... very yummy! Bonus, the beer was only $4 each.... still overcast and raining (hard at times). Took a tour of some of the other islands in the Whitsundays. Cook Island had an inlet with many waterfalls down the rocks.

Then we headed to the famous Whitehaven Beach....a 7km white silica sand beach. We're sure it would be absolutely beautiful in sunshine!!
It's "stinger" season so we had to wear very fashionable "stinger suits" to avoid jelly fish stings .... we looked "HOT,HOT, HOT!" as we swam in the Coral Sea in the rain. We put in a recommendation .... add ears to to the suits so we can look like teletubbies .... LOL
Tomorrow is another day in OZ. BTW got 45mm of rain on Hamilton Island today.
Teletubbies! LOL Glad the weather hasn't dampened your spirits or prevented you from getting to this area. We've been worried after hearing of the floods. Been enjoying reading your blog!
