We are staying at the Coolum Beach Caravan Park (right on the beach) and a beautiful beach it is. Also, we finally have half decent internet access.
Got in touch with Trevor and Jane. They came down to meet us at the park for a drink. A wonderful couple who operate GoOzGo.com.au. They were extremely helpful with planning our trip to Australia and we would highly recommend them to anyone. It was so nice to finally meet them after all the emails. We will definitely keep in touch and book our next Oz adventure through them. Tomorrow we will head back north a bit to see Noosa National Park and Noosa Beach.
Just a little summary of what we have learned:
Here it's OK to walk around barefoot on the street or in your local super market.
Round abouts actually work good especially when you learn how to negotiate them in rush hour traffic.
With the currency, the bills are plastic coated and are logically sized largest to smallest and nicely coloured like Canada. Coins are another story .... the silver coloured coins are .50, .20, .10 and .05 (no pennies so rounded up or down) and are in descending size. But that 50 cent piece is a big one! However, the $2 gold coloured coin is smaller than the $1 coin .... no one can figure out that one.
Tomorrow is another day. We are on the countdown to our final days here ..... time has gone by too quickly.
