A day of recovery.

Sat., March 5th.  Almost exactly 24 hours after we lost our wheel, we were passing through Wardell (just south of Ballina) in that area of Pacific Highway #1.  We were about 720 km north of Sydney, a day behind and in heavy rain.  We left just before 7 am and it rained until just after 2 pm.   New South Wales has a lot of speed cameras and driver monitor cameras especially between Brisbane and Sydney.

The new VW is good.  A few more gadgets including a back up camera.  We ended up stopping at Redhead Beach for the night.  This was an older park with a lot of old residential trailers ..... only 3 power sites to rent for the night ..... rednecks galore!!!  Don't stop here for the night!

But we took a walk through the sand dunes to the beach ..... beautiful!!

The tide was going out and there were a lot of dead little jelly fish on the sand .... blue ones and pink/purple ones.

Another thing we have learned over the last couple of months is that Oz has an extra measure of caravan residents .......  we have met a few people who have sold there homes and are living as Nomads or permanent residents in these parks.  Did we mention previously that real estate prices here are insanely high?
